Pennington Smart Seed Bermudagrass Mix with 2x faster results 8.75 LB

The media could not be loaded. I just bought my 1st home and landscaping was a big thing for me. I want when people drive by my house, that my landscaping is as beautiful as the house. I did my research on Bermuda grass before I chose this brand to go with. Making sure that it would grow well here in my area Texas. Once I did that, I plowed my front yard getting rid of the ugly old grass. I then used a weed killer and sprayed on the soil in hopes to get rid of any weeds. After about 2 weeks of spraying the weed killer I went ahead and sprinkled my Bermuda grass seeds on the area I did sprinkle a bit heavy because I wanted a full thick look. Once I was done doing that, I raked lightly over the soil so the seeds could mix in with the soil. I then watered the area. I did buy a sprinkler set here on Amazon that made it alot easier to water. It helped alot. I wasn't outside standing with a water hose in my hand. It took about 2 to 3 weeks before I began noticing the grass. And as the warmer weather came in the grass continued to grow. The key thing was watering. I made sure I watered at least 2 times a day. I did my first cut a month and 1 week after seeding. My advice is to be patient do the process right and water your grass. The results will come.

I'm a new home owner, so I know how authentic reviews are important for people trying to find the right product for their need. That being said, I have zero landscaping experience and much of this has been a lot of research and trial and error. I live in the Central Florida area and used the seeds in very sandy soil.A lot of the negative reviews mention having zero growth. In my experience, that is entirely dependent on you. When first planting, you HAVE to water religiously twice a day, if not more depending on how much direct sun your lawn has. I've had situations where I didn't water for the first day after putting down the seed and nothing grew at all. I strongly suggest getting an automatic timer and an impact sprinkler to make sure you don't forget. Not to sound like a broken record, but just to stress the point, IF YOU LET THE SOIL DRY OUT BEFORE THE GRASS GROWS BEYOND FIRST SPROUTING, YOU'RE GOING TO WASTE EVERYTHING.Once you get everything going, I'm pretty happy with the results. I mixed in closer lawn seeds with this to help with how "full" the lawn looks. The Bermuda has done very well with it and has started to spread into the bare areas, so even if you don't have a consistent growth pattern it'll fix itself in time. If you mix in the clover seed, the clovers will also crowd out weeds so it'll help with maintenance of the lawn.This has been a way better experience compared to the tall/fine fescue I originally tried and had to tear out.

This seed is great for what it's advertised as for the most part. I would give 5 stars if I understood the purpose of mixing chewings fescue in with bermuda. I used this seed multiple times to fill bare spots in my bermuda. Once the weather got consistently over 90° I never even saw the fescue germinate anyway which is fine because I bought this for the bermuda seed and this type of fescue is not likely to survive where bermuda would do well in the heat. I shared the cultivars because it's important to note that Sahara is really only a good choice for the south. I live in the southern transition zone so I probably won't be buying more of this, which is a shame because it seems to germinate faster than the other varieties bred for my zone. The package says southern sunny lawn so I can't blame Pennington because I don't live far enough south for this variety to be the best fit. This seed is also considerably cheaper than the cultivars bred for the transition zone and if you really just want to fill in bare spots it will work the data I found on Sahara indicates it is susceptible to winter kill and frost damage compared to other varieties like yukon or riviera.

My bag(s) contains up to 25% Fescue which for all intents and purposes is not a Warm Season Grass. Fescue is not a hot weather, high traffic grass to mix with actual Bermuda Grass. Thus my lawn has very little Bermuda Grass and a lot of Fescue. This is not value for money you know. If you are looking for quality Bermuda grass seed look somewhere else.

Takes for every to grow, and only a few seeds came up from ground, and based on how weak they look, I am sure they will die soon.

OMG! Ok so. 2021, the army worms hut, hut in my yard. TOTALLY DESTROYED my perfect lawn. Patches of brown dead grass everywhere. 2020 here comes a dang mole, who destroyed what the army worms left. 2023, I would not be outdone! Got rid of the moles, the dawn dishwashing soap and castor oil really works! Next, I took the bow rake and removed thatch. Then, I overseeded. 2 weeks after that, I applied turf builder. Watered in the morning, before 10am and at dusk. What you are seeing a month after overseeding. It worked! I am so proud of my efforts and the results! 1st of July, I will apply Grub Ex, and Summer Drought Turf builder and we good! I also use a green works mower with a bag, so these pictures are the first cutting after overseeding. I call it a clean cut. I would recommend this product to anyone!

Before I purchased this magical yard-enhancing marvel, my yard was a sad, brownish, desolate wasteland. It was a place where plants feared to grow, and even the neighborhood squirrels gave it a wide berth. But after using this product, I can proudly say that my yard has transformed into the lush, verdant oasis of my dreams!Now, the grass is so green that it would make even the most stubborn leprechaun weep with envy. The flowers bloom with such vigor that they practically deserve their own stand-up comedy routine. My yard has become the envy of the entire block, and I've received countless compliments from my neighbors, who are now green with envy (pun intended).

Bought a few times.. I just don’t see results.. plus it’s not much seed. It’s mostly coated materials.
