Petmate Cat Prey Wand

My cats like playing with wand toys, but this one creates such excitement in them. The propeller-like feathers makes the “bait” seem like it’s alive and fluttering about. They’re obsessed with it, and I’m loving the fact that it collapses down to such a small size that it’s easily stored away from little paws when not in use. If it breaks, I’d definitely buy it again.

Though, I'm not sure if it's because one of these was one of their very first toys, my cats are still crazy over these 5 years later. The one in the picture is the 4th I've bought, and like the others, was picked clean within a few play sessions. Even in this condition, they love it. The clicking of pulling the string out and the clacking of extending the end makes them chatter and circle like fuzzy sharks.Pros: The helicopter movement is very eye catching and attractive to catsIt makes recognizable sounds, creating a Pavlov's Bell for catsCons: The only con is the price, but every cat is worth buying multiple

Great toy, my lazy cat loves it. Only problem feathers get damaged quickly and no refills. Have to rebuy and that's expensive. Offer refills of feathers

This is the second one of these I have bought. The first one broke on the end where the toy is, the toy actually came apart when I accidentally hit it against a piece of furniture. However, I had it for around two years at the time and my previous cat played with it.My new cat loves this wand, and we play every night with it. She has two other wands, a bird one and a Halloween one, but this one is her favorite. She chases it and jumps on the bed to stalk it, and jumps in the air to catch it. This wand is Cupcake approved..

OK, just to make things 100% clear, our kitty boys LOVE this toy. They cannot get enough of it. They each have a favorite toy that they want to play with ALL day long, but when this comes out, that toy gets forgotten and this is the only thing on their fuzzy little minds. It captivates their attention and keeps them playing for longer than anything else we've tried. They chase and they leap and they twist in the air in ways that nothing else brings out of them.OK, now that that's out of the way, my wife and I really don't like this toy. The feathers are flimsy and get chewed up or chewed off almost every time we play (especially if you play as JG suggests and let them carry it off to chew at it for a while). They also chew on the clip, which has a weak spring, so probably 50% of the times we've pulled this out they've detached the head and run off with it.But the worst part is absolutely the string. The string tangles like nothing I've ever seen. If the kitties don't even touch the toy, the string will tangle from flying through the air. If they DO touch it...get ready for a long untangling process when they're done. There's a knot in the string that I've just given up on, it just won't come out. And the tangles are severe enough that the toy literally gets shorter the longer you play. After 5 minutes the cord is tangled enough that it's basically half the length. After 10 minutes, the cord is like 6" long. Oh, and retracting the string while it's tangled makes it more tangled.So there you go. We really don't like this toy. But the boys do, and they run the house, so we'll keep getting them and untangling them until we find something else that they love just as much. Now that you've listened to my rant, enjoy some pictures of kitties going absolutely 'nanners over the toy, plus one of how tangled it got after literally 2 minutes the first time we played with it.

I had really high hopes for this wand, which means when it failed, it failed big. It bothered me even more, knowing now that a durable cat wand just doesn’t exist. After playing with my 3 babies for a week, about 2-3 times a day, I noticed the string was twisting, causing the length to become shorter every time. So, I pulled the string all the way out and held it by the feather to allow the pole to spin freely, thereby straightening the string. I found myself having to do this every time I played with my babies. Then found I was doing it every few minutes when playing with them. The string started coming apart and a few weeks later it broke. So, in conclusion, this did last longer than the cheaper wands but only by a couple weeks. I’ve realized there is not a single toy out there made to last longer than a month.There is one toy that has held up against my 3 kitty babies. It was the inexpensive, wire with the little bits of cardboard attached at both ends. (You have to be careful to not hit your fur baby with it, as it would hurt since it’s a wire.).My expectations for a Jackson Galaxy wand are so much higher than the rest. My 3 babies and I sit and watch “My Cat from Hell”. I would think, if someone was going to develop a cat wand that would last, it would be “The Cat Daddy” himself. I’M STILL WAITING FOR THAT DURABLE WAND TO BE RELEASED. I’LL KEEP LOOKING ELSEWHERE IN THE MEAN TIME, BECAUSE THIS ISN’T IT.

The wand is solid with its retractable stick and wire. Great for adjusting for various play styles and settings. Our cat goes crazy for the rotating feather.

Jouet plutôt sympa, mais malheureusement des frais de douane a payer (remboursé par le vendeur). Pensez a demander un justificatif si ça vous arrive...

I love Jackson galaxy and that’s why I gave it a shot but in Europe you pay way too much for it.Have it for like 3-4 months and it’s already bend and the feathers got completely destroyed after 1month…

Good toy! My cat still loves it and it’s probably one of the only things she never got bored of. The string however broke within a couple of months - made a knot to keep using it. It also wraps around itself a lot and you end up spending a bit of time untying it every time you use it - which can be a bit annoying.
