Holding Together

Music is wonderful, however the final track on disc 2 is defective. Since this is a brand new disc at premium pricing, a hard fail.

This fiery 2 disc set shows the band live with great performances by all players. It has now become one of my favourite albums.

Last published recording with the (late) Bob Berg on a mix of old and new Steps tunes makes this a great addition to any jazz library.

I was sceptical of Bob Berg replacing Brecker, but after hearing this I am a Berg fan. He works very well with the group, and we have to accept that Brecker could not be everywhere......writing this it pains me that both these great modern tenor masters have left us much too soon. If you want more Steps, more Berg, or just some really great modern jazz tunes (excellent writing here!!), I suggest this.

Documento indispensabile di un gruppo storico come gli Steps Ahead in una registrazione live della fine degli anni 90 in cui i solisti a cominciare da Bob Berg in questa occasione al sax, Mike Mainieri al vibrafono e Eliane Elias al piano danno il meglio di se coadiuvati da una ritmica d'eccezione. Unica pecca: la registrazione non è proprio delle migliori.

CD molto bello. Ovviamente la musica rispecchia il loro genere.

一番楽しみにしていた、「In A Sentimental Mood」〜ボブ・バーグの「Friday Night At The Cadillac Club」は、前曲の後半からプツプツとノイズがひどい。ディスク交換してもらったが、同じ。マスターの問題か、プレスの問題か...内容がいいのに、とっても残念。
