Easy to use and hide!
Easy to use, keeps my Garmin where I can see it and when I don’t want it visible I can just close it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:i only have a portable GPS and it was always moving around on the dash. this holds the display very well and just fits in the dash shelf of my truck.

Yet another "nice try, but not quite"
I bought this for use for my 7" GPS. First off, that's about the max size this will take, but worse, the adhesion just didn't cut it. It has a nice big pad, but my car has been detailed with armor-all, so even epoxy won't stick to it well. I suppose if I rough sanded a section, it would hold pretty well, until it got dirty, and the adhesion stops working, as is the case with all of these "sticky" pads. Its best use, would be for a temporary mount of your cell phone, where you only need it on occasion, nothing permanent. My GPS? I wound up drilling and screwing in the mounting base, and its perfect.I tried to take the easy way out with this, and it didn't work out.

Just what I was hoping
I have a Garmin smart 86 which has an 8-in screen. The other mat I had for my old Garmin didn't work for this one because it's so front heavy. It didn't take much for it to fall over.My Garmin fits great and it seems to hold well in the notches. I didn't want it in the middle of my dash because it does block views. As you can see my dashboard is a little curved. It's a 2010 Prius. This unit holds on to that curve very well. It stayed put when I was doing turns, accelerating and stopping. It's sticky on the bottom with a small oval "stickier" area, so that it isn't permanently attached but it grips well yet allowing it to be removed to use in another vehicle. It does come with a 3M sticker should it become necessary.If you're a very aggressive driver maybe you'll have issues with it (?). But I'm very pleased. Customer service is good. I had a question and the seller got right back to me.My opinion is to go ahead and get one. If it doesn't work out for you, you can send it back.
