Great compact and responsive keyboard

This is great keyboard, and I really like the overall typing experience, although I would of preferred a more clicky key with a little bit more travel. Its a personal preference thing though.Anyway, the pros:- Thin and compact but very sturdy - no flex, full metal body. lovely feel to it- The lights are bright! but i prefer to set it to the lowest setting (still visible in daylight) to preserve battery life- very responsive, no perceptible lag for my games, this is via both bluetooth and lightspeed connections.- Easily switch between lightspeed connection (my Razer laptop) and bluetooth (my ipad pro)- fast wake up times, unlike my MS designer mouse which when asleep takes 2-3 secs to connect, this device connects instantly (sub 1 sec).- Long battery life - haven't tested this properly but i havent charged it in two weeks of light usage and games. Now the cons:- Charges via micro usb! - WHY! - i have to have a micro usb cable available just to charge this....please make the next one usb c.....- to change light patterns require the memorisation of a combination of button presses - would have preferred a dedicated key for this- no way of setting a custom light pattern /layout unless you use the desktop app to configure it. if you use it on a tablet or mobile device then you're stuck.Overall a really nice, light, strong and capable keyboard. It has a mechanical keyboard feel but doesn't match my larger keyboards for typing feel but that is to be expected though as this is a slim line keyboard.

A joy to use.

Ok, so it's a lot of money for a keyboard. But I use one for most of the day. For work, playing games, or email, domestic bookkeeping etc. (Or, indeed, writing Amazon reviews!) And I think it was worth the investment so far.It is definitely the best keyboard I've ever used. The build quality/styling is amazing. Such a solid feel to it.I did try the full-sized version with the numeric pad, but the extra 'function' keys on the left hand side annoyed me like crazy and made touch-typing almost impossible. Especially if you also regularly have to use a 'normal' keyboard for work. The small version is much nicer imo. It's actually handy to have something a little more compact on a crowded desktop. So far I've missed not having a numeric pad about three times. All while using spreadsheets. I suppose I could clutter my desktop up again with an external numeric pad; but I really doubt I'd use it more than a few times a year anyway.Other features are also pretty useful at times, and show some thought has actually gone into it.+ The key action is really satisfying.+ Switching between lightspeed and Bluetooth basically means I can use it simultaneously with computer and laptop.+ The game mode button stops you irritatingly pressing stuff you don't want to (and this isn't just for games).+ The media buttons are actually pretty useful. Something I've never bothered with on other keyboards. Using the volume control is just somehow really satisfying; it's a far better to use that it looks in the pictures.+ Two levels of adjustable height for the back.+ There's all sorts of clever stuff it can be set up to do with function keys and multiple configurations and macros and so on. I haven't even looked into all that; I just want something to type on in the normal way. But I guess to someone wanting such things they can be really handy. Is it perfect? Unfortunately not. There is still definitely room for improvement.- No doubting it; it's noisy. Look; if you've spent all that money on the thing - surely you'll want everyone else nearby to know about it, right? ;)- Only the letters / primary functions of keys are illuminated. This means in a room which isn't really well lit all the shifted characters (which are darkish grey on black) are practically invisible. Let's just hope 'tilde' is where I expect it to be...- Micro USB charge socket. Really? In 2021?- I did have some problems with the connection until I moved all my USB stuff around. Now it works flawlessly, but only after spending some money and considerable time getting the right USB devices in the right places.- I wish it had simple support for more than 1 Bluetooth connection. Yup; too many PCs and laptops in use in here.~ They keys do actually feel rather loose if you wiggle them. This is the first mechanical keyboard I've owned, so it may be the same for all of them. For 'normal typing' this isn't a problem, though.~ I also had a problem with the battery only charging to 80% after a few months. But on contacting support and going through the usual check list of irrelevant-sounding 'fixes' it turned out that it really WAS the source of USB power I was charging it from. An eat-humble-pie moment for me. But at least it was resolved quickly.Overall I'd definitely recommend it so someone who, like me, spends a lot of time using a computer keyboard to earn their living, for entertainment, and/or keep in touch with people.

Solid mechanical wireless keyboard

I bought this keyboard when I changed jobs to one that would require me to bundle my laptop into a bag and take it to an office occasionally. I've found previously that my hands hate me if I type for long periods on a laptop keyboard, so I wanted a high quality keyboard. I also wanted one that would fit into my laptop bag easily - hence the TKL decision. I'm a software developer, so I'm typing fairly continuously, plus I play games over the weekends sometimes, and wanted something that'd do that, too. This does fit in my bag - though it's surprisingly heavy, it's also fairly slim. There are certainly smaller keyboards, but few with a "classic" qwerty layout and decent keys - in this case, I find the "low profile" tactile keys have sufficient travel and response for good typing. Gaming is solid too.I mostly run this keyboard on Linux for work; I use the dongle and it's all good. Media keys, etc all work well. The Linux software (Solaar) doesn't give you a useful battery readout, it only tells you the battery voltage in mV, which isn't tremendously useful. Also you can't control the lighting; I just use the onboard setting for that.On Windows, the software works fine for me for the most part, but the lighting does go weird and blinky when the keyboard is in standby (it turns off fully when it goes to sleep). That said, I really don't use the software for much at all beyond telling me the battery level.Battery life is impressive - I find it lasts me more than a week, and while it's micro USB instead of USB-C, that's not the end of the world. I've not really tried the Bluetooth on it.The main downsides to it are that it cannot share a USB dongle with the other Lightspeed products - I have a mouse, and of course the price. The price is absolutely ridiculous. But you know what? I paid it, and I'm now eyeing up the non-TKL version to live permanently at my desk. I must be mad.
