Lola Goes to School (Lola Reads)

As a teaching assistant in an early childhood school I often look for books to read to my students that fit our curriculum and student needs. This book is excellent at both! Well written and just the right length for young attention spans. I love how spunky and unique Lola is. One of my students has the same name which made the book even better! I also like that this book reflects how their day may look. They don’t do the same kind of activities as preschoolers, kindergarteners or other older kids may do so back to school books that showcase those ages aren’t as helpful. Lola is right where my kids are. Many are coming to school for the first time. Some only stay half day. They often have blankets and back up clothes in their bags just in case. Yes I do look for diverse books for our classroom but I want the items I get to feel natural and not forced like the only reason I got something was to fill a quota. So I carefully chose high quality books, dolls, dramatic play items etc that I feel accurately portray all people. Lola definitely fits the bill here too.

Granddaughter liked it

This is a wonderful book to read to your kid prior to starting school. My 3 years old was saying no to go to school all the time the month prior to the start date. I got her this book and we read it everyday for a week before going to school and she was super excited and knew what was going to happen. Zero tears when I left her at drop off the first day and on all other days!

We, maybe it's more me, love Lola books! We plan to purchase the rest of the books in the series as well! The sentences are short and sweet, and the pictures are colorful.

This book is great. My daughter loves it. She is turning 4 soon, and it's easy for her to understand. The pictures are so beautiful, too.

I read this to my class daily for the first 2 weeks of school. They just loved it!

This book is great for pre schoolers to get ready for the 1st day of school. It is simple, cute and easy to listen to. The illustrations are lovely.

I really recomend this book for children starting in PreK. All Lola's books are adorable. We love Lola!! I think we have the entire collection.

My niece absolutely loves this book. She just started JK so it was wonderful to read before her 1st day of school. Love the Lola books!
