Decent
Build quality is poor, but it gets the job done. Only had for a few months, likely won't survive the winter so I'll bring it in. Doesn't like normal rechargeable batteries, even when they are full this device says they have 1 bar left. So, they would work but probably need to be replaced often. I got a hardwired AA kit, and had to make sure it output exactly 3.0v, at 3.3v this device didn't function (reset itself/lost all settings when trying to open the water). The optional soil moisture sensor works fine for my 1-ouput device.

Saves Water!!
An awesome device that controls the amount of water used by plants - I use it for my veggies and my pot plants and my plants never looked better!!!! A must have for anyone growing vegetables or anything else. Highly recommended!!!

Worked well until it didn't
This was the more expensive of the two timers I purchased, and this one broke month after being used. The top valve is leaking water out from the inside tubing. I can't fix it without replacing the pipe that runs through the device. Really tired of buying poor quality items that expire a month or two after the return window.

Works as Described BUT Leaks
Nice that it has a soil moisture override and automated timer. Easy to read and understand interface. BUT I can't get it to stop a slow leak where it connects to the hose bib, thus it is only being run manually, not automatically as intended. In areas like mine with high water use fines, you couldn't afford the leaks on multiple ones of these.

Timed watering based on soil dryness
Programming is not intuitiv and takes too many steps. Rain sensor does not work reliable. The sprinkler stopped/started one day properly, a few days later it started watering after 2 inches of rainfall. It was still raining heavily. Now, the plug for the sensor keeps falling out, maybe the critters play with it, but it is barely sticking in there by itself. A screw, snap, or bayonet connection should not be too much to ask for.

Sensors fail
I’ve bought several of these units. Water timer seems to work ok, but sensors fail within a couple of months.

Great add on for the timer, but connection needs work
Great add on for the timer, but connection needs work. There is nothing to hold it in place besides a very light friction fit. I wanted to use this to water some new arborvitae’s this season. It worked well, but I had to check on it every few days.
