DANGER! Receiver Board Exploded!!!
The replacement transmitter and receiver boards received in this kit were yellow, vs. my Kitchen Aid refrigerator’s original green boards that I was replacing. They otherwise appeared virtually identical to the originals and fit plastic mounts well. The transmitter installed, without issue.I found it extremely difficult to seat the receiver’s electrical connector, on the other hand. The real surprise came when I applied power to the refrigerator and witnessed a powerful light-show, as the receiver board exploded. Two components on the board burned up: a capacitor and what appeared to be a relay. Once I disconnected power, replaced the original receiver board and reapplied power, I experienced no more visible issues, and the OEM receiver appears to be receiving the IR signal from the transmitter (no more flashing red light), so my fridge may only have needed the transmitter. I sure hope that’s the case, as the receiver board from this kit is toast.I’m beyond upset that I received a defective and dangerous board and would strongly advise against ordering products from this vendor!

Saved me a ton of money and headaches!
My ice maker stopped working for the past year or two and I was resigned to holding off as long as possible until considering calling a repair person. I then went onto youtube and did a lot of research on ice maker issues and found one that seemed similar to mine after turning off and resetting the freezer or letting the tubing defrost some didn't help. Turns out I should have paid attention to the flashing lights on the indicator to help troubleshoot the issue. I also looked and did not see the sensor/detector light working.I looked at Youtube comments and found one or two other people that led me to Amazon. It turns out that some freezers of various brands all use the same parts. I googled my freezer/fridge model # and looked up the parts to make sure everything checked out. Given how inexpensive this was, I thought it was worth a try.Installation was fairly rapid aside from some of the screws being a little difficult to access. I do recommend temporarily turning off your unit while you are replacing the panel so you don't get shocked. It was a bit of a squeeze to get my fingers inside to unplug the old unit and plug in the new unit, but after it was all said and done, the ice maker started working again. Perfect for the hot California weather!

Very easy to install.
I had the two red flashing light error. Replacing the boards was very easy. Each panel was three screws and each circuit board was held with only two screws. After replacing, I unplugged the fridge for about a minute. The red light error went away and a few hours later, I had ice again! This product saved me a bundle. OEM boards were like $300!!

Quick replacement on a Whirlpool Gold series
Ice maker stopped working last week, LED on the sensor was blinking twice. Found multiple Youtube videos that explained what the issue was and how to fix it, so I ordered the part.Parts arrived in two anti-static bags, there were no instructions with it. Again, youtube is your friend.Took about 10 minutes to pull the 10 total screws and swap the boards out. The boards dropped in and fit without an issue. About five minutes after everything was plugged in, I heard the familiar sound of water running into the icemaker for it to produce more cubes.

Don't waste $353.51 on the "factory" boards, this on works fine
I was a bit hesitant to buy this item instead of the "official" factory version (though I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same item anyway). But at $353.51 for the "factory" board set (holy cow!) I went with this one. So far so good, I installed the receiver about 3 months ago (emitter didn't need replacing), and it's been working fine ever since.

Requires some Modification
The parts are well made. However, when the "No Ice" door is slid over it hits a resistor. You can force it by, but I think in a short time it would break. You could as one other has wrote tou can slightly move and "re-soldier the resistor. Or, what I did was to just trim some of the plastic off the inside of the sliding door (approx. 1/4") and it clears all interference and works fine. I would of gave it 5 stars if not for that.

Instant Gratification
Watched the short YouTube videos to diagnose the problem, searched on Amazon, had it the next day, only had to install the emitter in 5 minutes (smaller part, left side) and problem was solved. Paid $20 instead of $400, don’t find those deals everyday😀 We’ll see how long it will last but could afford 20 to break even.

Easy to install, and works great!
Fortunately, I only had to install the left-side (small) panel and it started working right away. I still have the larger panel in case I need it at some point.I’m in a rental home and saved the owners big bucks on either a repair (~$775) or the cost of a new unit.Needless to say, I’m their new hero!
