Sizing
I read many of the reviews before buying these gloves. The reviews on performance all seemed to be good and I found the videos helpful in choosing this glove over others. What concerned me the most was the size. There are many comments on the size of the gloves and they seemed to be all over the board. The palm of my hand measures about 7 1/4” and a small fit it fine. I was buying 2 other sets of gloves for family members and didn’t know the sizes of the hands, so I bought 2 mediums. Ron sent an email asking if I was satisfied with the purchase. I told him about my concern about the size and he assured me that he would send out the right sizes if they didn’t fit. He has been very responsive and I truly appreciate his quick response and his willingness to make sure I’m satisfied with my purchase. My advice is to ignore the comments on size and use the sizing guidelines provided. The gloves should fit snugly. You don’t want them loose when trying to cut or use a mandoline. Also, the ribbing does come up onto your palm a bit....again, this is for snugness...better snug than loose. Thanks Ron for your great product and also for your great customer service!

I love these gloves
So far, I love these gloves. They do run small, so beware. We bought a small size for me (female with small hands -- often have a hard time getting gloves small enough for me) and a medium for my significant other (male with long, slender fingers). I have petite hands, and the smalls are perfect for me. The mediums are just a wee bit too small for their intended person, so we will order a large size for him.As far as whether they work: I put a green onion in one of the fingers of a glove and sawed firmly with several strokes with a sharp paring knife. The onion had a small dent in it, but it wasn't cut. And I cannot imagine a situation in which I would find myself sawing intently on my own fingers, so I think the gloves will prevent finger accidents. I used one glove while slicing an onion on a mandoline; the glove felt secure and I didn't end up with any cuts on myself. Granted, I didn't actually try to cut the glove on the blade, so I haven't given the glove as robust a test as I could have. Still, I felt safe and confident. I will update this review in a few weeks after we've had time to really try out the gloves.

Got a slicer or a knife? You NEED these gloves!
If you own a mandolin slicer, there's an excellent chance that you've wound up with a sliced finger at some point. Personally, I've wound up with a sliced thumb or digit virtually every time I use one but they are the way to go when making sauteed potatoes and onions, my husband's favorite dish. These gloves are absolutely worth the money. I made the dish last night and easily would have sliced open at least two fingers without them. Also good when chopping anything slippery such as hard boiled eggs or fruit with a skin (grapes, tomatoes, etc.). I should have bought these years ago when I first attempted cooking.

Early review - Great gloves!
I was always nicking my hands, when I had to cut items that required a narrow working area. I was using a vegetable peeler on small potatoes, which means I usually always get cut. This was the first time I used the gloves, and I really enjoyed not getting nicked for a change. Really like them.

Useful
I am always accidentally cutting myself when chopping things up in the kitchen so these gloves were a great solution. Sometimes they impact dexterity and make it harder to cut things up but at least they prevent cutting your hands and fingers.

Seems fine but haven't had them long enough to say.
Really it is too soon to say what I think about these gloves other then they fit well. I have a small hand and the small size fits snuggly as they are supposed to. Shipment was good. I wore the gloves once to cut and chop but did not get the knife in a position that could cut my finger if I wasn't wearing them. So I cannot say how well they work at this point (thus, the 4 stars).

Kibaron's idea of small is "Eight year old girl".
Even if you're a girl that has occasionally been told that you have small and slender hands, order a size up. These gloves are more like "You're either pre-pubescent or have primordial dwarfism" small. They still fit, but it's a struggle. Also they REEK if you chop onions. Submerge them in a baking soda/water mixture for a few days.

and I am very pleased to say it has saved the day on more ...
My husband cut his hand while cooking one day, three stitches later he went looking for a safety glove to use in the kitchen, He found this one, and I am very pleased to say it has saved the day on more than one occasion. We now give them as gifts to friends who like to cook. Love the glove!
