3 x ST-622T 10 Year Thermally Enhanced Optical Smoke Alarm

Excellent piece of kit to replace the rather ugly older models.A small unobtrusive red light flashes intermitently to let you know the fire angel is doing its job.The flat circular shape is pleasing to the eye but blends into most ceilings and becomes unnoticeable in time.

Purchased three of these from Shreek Meds Ltd in Stockport (UK) via Amazon. As soon as they were installed, they all started to emit beeping noises as though the internal battery had failed. I contacted the manufacturers' (FireAngel) support line directly and this is their complete and unedited reply: " Thank you for your email and apologies you have experienced issues with your alarms. Further to our previous conversation this afternoon. The alarms ST-622, you purchased from Amazon in March 2023; we can confirm from the pictures & details you have provided these alarms were manufactured in 2013. This means they are already 10 years old, with the 10-year battery life expectancy this is why your alarms are chirping low battery. It does look like the replace by date on the alarm has been tampered with or covered with a sticker. We believe these have been sold to you from a third-party seller who has already had use of these alarms for the previous years, therefore we cannot guarantee the quality of these alarms after that amount of time. We advise you to contact Amazon to inform them that you have been sold a product already past its used by date". Have a look at the label with '2033' printed on in the attached photo. I am very concerned and have referred this case to Trading Standards.

Really easy to install. Auto activates when fitted to the mounting plate.

Be very wary of buying from this seller.I purchased 3 alarms and on setting them up, they all began to 'chirp', which is an indication of the battery running out.This should only happen after 10 years of use, at which point the alarm should be changed.I contacted the manufacturer 'Fireangels', who were excellent. They asked me to send photos of the units. Within 20 minutes of doing so, they emailed to explain that they could tell from the issue numbers, that the units were in fact 10 years old, and the seller had placed a sticker over the original 'replace' date, falsely stating the unit/battery had a 10 year life expectancy, where in fact, the batteries were finished - thus the chirping.As I said, Fireangels have been excellent, immediately dispatching 3 authentically new units.The seller is guilty of entirely misleading the customer.

They are east to fit and great value for such a highly rated product (which)

My previous smoke alarms were very often bleeping consuming battery power quickly hoping these 10yr battery smoke alarms will be less attention seeking! Easy to install.

What's to like about a safety product with a 10 year warranty and the battery warning starts bleeping in under a year. Also not impressed I have to spend £15 sending it back for a replacement.
