Bulk Nuts, Nut Usa. Pecan Halves (Limited Edition)

I have bought things from amazon for years and this is the first review I have ever written. The pecans I received from this seller are probably the worst pecans I've ever seen, they are old (you can tell by the dark color), dry, most have bad spots on them and a bitter taste. They were delivered today, and I decided to make chocolate covered pecans, I have already had to throw away 75% of the ones I've taken out of the bag. I'm retired and don't have money to throw away, as I'm sure most of you don"t, so take my advice and buy from some other company.

I received these and immediately put into freezer because I had a supply I was using... Just took some out of freezer and they are NOT very good. Someone asked what type of pecans they are... well they are assorted ones... several types actually... but that is not an issue when you buy for a good price...But the problem is they just aren't fresh. I bought a large supply last year and they were in my same freezer ... some for months and they always tasted fresh... That is not the case with these... I am in the south and pecans are annually my favorite nuts... I put them in an orange jello salad... on top of a sundae, into cakes, in topping for apple crisp... and many more recipes... and these are just not worth the purchase. They are edible if you like that 'old' taste. This is my, sad to say, experience.

Major Disappointment! Upon opening there was a chemical smell, most likely due to the hard plastic packaging. The nuts themselves were smaller than expected, lacked flavor, appeared shriveled and were rather “soggy”. Additionally, the package states they are a product of the US and Mexico, packaged in New York. Not as advertised. Note: This product is not eligible for return. Just blew $60

When I read prior reviews I was nervous about ordering. But when I quickly received this fantastic huge bag of fresh delicious pecans, I was so pleasantly surprised! Now I am set to do lots of holiday baking and am not only using these delicious pecans in breads, but can't resist sprinkling onto my morning oatmeal. Don't know what problem in past was for others, but can honestly say this order was perfect and I will certainly be ordering again from WeGotNuts in the future!!

Several months ago I ordered a 5lb bag of pecan halves, and the seller was “The New Mall”. When it was time to reorder, I simply selected the “buy it again’ option. What wasn’t obvious is that the seller changed to “We Got Nuts”. The reorder picture was the same as my last order, so I assumed I was ordering the same, great product from The New Mall.We Got Nuts pecans are much darker in color, many are dried up, and stale, taste terrible. The first picture shows what The New Mall pecans look like (on the left) and what We Got Nuts look like (on the right).In the future, I’ll double check who the seller is and not order anything from We Got Nuts.

We're big pecan lovers and usually have toasted pecans as a snack after dinner while watching TV. The pecans were fresh enough, and had good color, taste and texture, but the package looked like it had been run over a couple of times, and about a third of the almonds were in small pieces. Baysidecandy.com is the seller, and it might be interesting to buy a bag from them directly to see if the handling is a shipper or Amazon problem. Also, there is an allergy warning on the Baysidecandy site that says: "Manufactured, repackaged or handled in a facility that processes products containing: peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, salt and milk ingredients," very important for people with food allergies and not found on the Amazon site.

I love pecans. Use them in lots of recipes and also love to eat them by the handfuls. Before ordering I saw some reviews stating that the pecans were old. The pecans I received were fresh and I have already eaten 4 or 5 handfuls and have no complaints at all. Excellent pecans.

These pecans are not current year nuts. They should be acceptable for pies, brownies or most cooked dishes. However as a diabetic I rarely eat deserts. I eat a few raw pecans as a between meal snack. For this use they are not very good. I have a few pecans that I picked out in 2017 and placed in a freezer that are much fresher tasting. The pecans I received in the Amazon order are dark not the caramel color of fresh pecans. Easy to understand why they are not returnable.
