Good Pen, terrible packaging
I've used many, many specialized pens over the past 15 years at the recommendation of hand therapists - some with special grips, the Ring Pen, Pen Bird, and the wonderful Pen Again. As my hands improved, I gave them away. Now I'm back to square one after hand surgery, and in need of an assortment of retraining pens.Since I first used this pen years ago, I now see improvements in the retractable pen tip, making it much easier to close. In addition, the ink refill is significantly improved (more like a gel pen than a traditional ball point), so it writes more smoothly; again, easier for compromised hands to use. If you have any sort of grip, you will probably be able to manage this pen. It is on the small side, making it appropriate for younger writers, and some older writers with small or weakened hands. The clip makes it easy to attach to a book, calendar, or planner. The one negative is the packaging, which seriously needs an update! The pen ships in a clamshell that requires shears to open - very difficult for post-surgery, severe arthritis, or congenital hand problems. I can understand this in a store setting, where customers would likely open the package to test out this odd looking pen, but this would be a perfect product for Amazon's No-Hassle Packaging!

Holding regular pens and pencils is weird now
I bought this pen because my note-taking for school gets into multiple pages per class per day and my hand was really starting to hurt - even after multiple days of rest. This pen eliminated all of that soreness and pain. It's also massively fun to write with and just hold. There's something about the plastic on my particular one that I can't stop unconsciously rubbing when I'm not taking notes in class. I personally found the transition from regular pen to this one to be almost intuitive. The way you hold it is so natural that using standard pens and pencils feels awkward.Unfortunately I'm going to knock off a star, and I know that the design really doesn't allow it to make up for this flaw, but I found that the ink only lasted me a couple weeks. I bought it a month and half ago, it came with two replacements along with the one already loaded, and I'm already almost out. I write a large amount of notes, but still, my heretofore favored pens would need only their first replacing at this time if that. And I just ordered my first bundle of replacements: 1.85 cost with 5.95!! shipping. Luckily the shipping price doesn't change based on the number bought (or the small number I did buy: 4), but it's still a high cost for shipping something that's so small and light.

Helped my hurting hands
I have a neurological disorder that makes writing difficult. My neurologist gave me a sample of one of these pens. WOW what a difference and how much easier to write. I highly recommend them. It takes just a little while to get used to the feel of the pen, but once that is done you will be off "writing". Thanks for a great product!!!

Ease arthritic fingers.
I’ve been using these for years. They really help my arthritic fingers and they’re great conversation starters.

Just as easy to use "fat" pen
Didn't help as much as I thought. Just as easy to use "fat" pen.

Four Stars
It takes a little getting used to. But has helped reduce the arthritic pain in my hand when writing.

Not everyone will like it.
Did not like it. Very awkward to hold in hand. Did not like ink in it as it did not glide. Felt like I had to push the pen along.
