I have no idea how but this stuff works! It's hard to get past the feeling that you're rubbing dirt on your dog but it doesn't leave them dirty! I have a shelter dog that I cant bathe - or really do much of anything shes so afraid - and I was able to use this on her. I put some in my hand (because the bottle scared her) and rubbed it on her like I was petting her. Worked great! I also sprinkled it in the yard where there was skunk spray and it helped there too. This stuff was a lifesaver for me.

I don't normally write reviews. But this stuff is magic! Instantly it took the skunk odor out of my entryway end the plants alongside it. I was getting embarrassed when people approached the front door that it stank so badly. But not anymore. I rinsed the inside of the porch with water mixed with the powder and then sprinkled the powder on all of the surrounding shrubs end walkways . And I'm having trouble believing it, but the smell of skunk is totally gone. It took five minutes.

This is probably my 4th purchase. Since discovering the Skunk powder, I make sure I have a bottle on hand at all times. In our neighborhood, it's not IF your dog get skunked, it's WHEN will your dog get skunked (answer, BTW: - at the least convenient time like prom night or your son's 18th birthday party or the night before you are leaving on vacation and the dogs are going to the kennel).Since my dogs are experts at finding the skunks, I have tried every internet recipe. Some are okay but the skunk scent lingers - just not as pungent. And, you can't use those mixtures to take the smell out of your carpet or off the walls when a freshly skunk dog tries to rub the oil off her face on your new comforter. I keep a bottle along with Dawn and hydrogen peroxide ready to go. I know that this sounds like the country remedy which uses baking soda instead of smelleze - but this is better. The peroxide and detergent are to get rid of the oils that are in the spray. The Smelleze releases the thiols which cause the smell. I have been standing over my dog and put the powder on and got a rush of skunk scent releasing from her body.Also, since this is a powder, I have used it on the carpet, put it in the washing machine with skunky smelling clothes and a few other creative applications. Bottom line, this is the only product I have found that truly takes the skunk scent away.One caveat - dogs that get sprayed full on in the face will continue to stink for a while. you just can't put anything that close to their eyes.
