When the chime I had for 3+ years started on it's last legs after years of Colorado hail I of course started my search on Amazon. I was skeptical at first because Woodstock dominated the search results, but once I started looking into them I became more and more impressed. Their website (http://www.chimes.com/) includes short audio clips of each chime and it was really difficult to narrow it down!I've always loved deeper chimes, but that usually means buying a larger set. My breath was taken away when I heard these though. Because they're square there's a lot more space for the sound to resonate in giving them a much deeper sound than what you'd expect for a chime of it's size and price. As another reviewer said, if you've never had a chime before, this one will spoil you for any others!I've had it in a southern facing spot for a couple months now, partially shielded from the elements, but we've had some hail while it's been up and it shows no signs of wear. I may oil the wood pieces every 6-12 months, if they're starting to show wear, but I expect it will hold up just fine for many years.As others have noted, the chime does require a somewhat stiff breeze to play; you should be able to hear the leaves rustling. It's really at home in the Colorado foothills for sure though.

There are American made wind chimes and I did not do my due diligence on this. It takes a fair amount of wind to make the chimes "chime", and I rarely hear all four tones. A friend was over and thought he heard someone backing up do to only one tone being struck with the clanger. It seems to be well made, but I am disappointed in the country of origin and not being able to hear all the tones without a hefty wind.

I discovered Woodstock Windchimes about 30 yrs ago. As a musician, I buy for myself, or gift, only Woodstock chimes.I've had some problems and annoyances over the years,(the worst being quickly rusting of 2 different temple bells)But I have NEVER purchased a poorly made Woodstock product, not even from a deep discount store.As you can see on my pictures, 3 of the 4 edges of the top wood piece are either damaged or poorly stained.

Even though I read the dimensions, these wind chimes were smaller than I expected. They are not large chimes. When they say they are 25 inches long, they mean from top to bottom of the entire chime - not the length of the longest chime like I was thinking.The sound was what I expected (listened to the sound on the Woodstock website) and very pleasant. They look nice - I like the black, square chimes. I don't know how well they will hold up to our very wet winters, but I'll soon find out.I was a bit worried when I read other reviews that they would not chime unless there was a really strong wind, but I haven't found that to be the case. Yes, it takes a breeze, but isn't that the point of a wind chime? Overall, happy with the purchase. Just wish I'd paid more attention to how small they are.

This thing is a work of art. The sound is simply stunning and it looks as stunning as it sounds. Anyone who buys this will know what I mean as soon as they take it out of the box and remove the protective wrapping. I'm not sure what the musical terminology is, whether it's vibrato or reverberation, or what. But the full, clear, rich, musical sound of the notes reverberates(?) when struck. The elegant black square tubes contrasted with the light ash wood would be right at home around a Frank Lloyd Wright house.I've heard much larger chimes that don't compare to the sound of this piece of work. If you like chimes, you will love this one. If you've never had one before, this one will spoil you for any of the others.

These are beautiful chimes. My wife had asked for windchimes for her birthday, and after listening to pretty much all of the sound samples on the Woodstock site, I settled on these (got 'em from Amazon and saved several bucks over the Woodstock site).We have a foursquare house (aka "Prairie Box") and these fit perfectly with the look of the house and sound is very sweet and pure. They sound clearly in a gentle breeze, but don't go crazy even when it gets pretty windy so they give a great, but not intrusive, ambiance a good amount of the time.

I bought this chime 1 year, 2 months ago, and can honestly say that it has weathered intense heat (up to 121F - I live in Arizona!) and major windstorms (at times we have days on end of wind that can gust up to 40-50mph) and this chime looks as good as the day that I bought it! With other chimes I would have to remove them from the time the winds would pick up or risk having them destroyed in no time - but not this one! I haven't brought it down since the day it went up and it continues to look and sound fabulous. I particularly was looking for chime that had a slightly deeper sound - I hate the tinny sound of most smaller chimes. This one has a beautiful sound that is very soothing to the ears. A must buy!!!

Excellent wind chimes! My house has neighbors on all sides so I wanted wind chimes that had a pleasant sound but required more than a gentle breeze to sound.These wind chimes are perfect for my needs. The sound is really peaceful and relaxing but it takes a bit of wind to get them going. In addition to their pleasant sound, they are absolutely beautiful and unique and I’ve had several compliments from family and friends on them.Highly recommended!

Loved the tone of this chime online and know the quality as have a few other woodstock chimes already. As per, quality you dont get with usual cheap chimes in shops, tone also you wont get from cheaper ones and if you care for them as per woodstocks info, my others have withstood 3 Scottish winters n summers now I tend to shed them into november through to spring, and when really bad storms are coming ill take them down overnight if needed. Cant wait to get them all back out again as they are beautiful to listen to as we always seem to get some kinda breeze here.

I absolutely love our new wind chime. I spent a bit of time listening to different chime sounds online and this one resonated with me most. It’s very peaceful, subtle sound, not too high pitched, especially for chime this size. Unfortunately this particular chime wasn’t available anywhere in Australia where I’m based so I ordered from the US website. It came safely delivered in indicated timeframe. The chime is high quality and visually beautiful in its elegant simplicity. I like the colour as well - deep dark green.

Looks lovely and sounds great.

This is my second Woodstock chime. The old set are ten years old and sound as good as new.The new set are smaller but sound just as lovely
