Does what is says, for all the tests I tried.

Does what it says. I tested it with a Klein Tools ET920 USB Tester, and a resistance-subsitution-box..which allows one to incrementally adjust to less and less resistance. I got it all the way down to 1 ohm, and 1.3 amps. I did not try this setup with data simultaneously, as I cut the test USB cord in two. I also test this device with the wires shorted in the usb cable (the power wires), and it got 1.03 amps...which is sort of interesting, since they are the same wires that just before had an additional 1 ohm of resistance in the loop...yet had MORE amperage. But, it was close to the same. Likewise, I ran Arduino Micro through it, with USB and tested up to 2Mbps, quiet successfully. I'm looking to use some other kind of microcontroller and test up to the full 12Mbps. I did try two of my external-USB-Harddrives and neither would usb-post. They were only looking for about 0.58 amps when trying to spin up, and about 0.4 amps. So, since tested it to 1-1.3 amps with the shorted USB-cord, then my drives must not have worked, simply due to not enough USB-throughput with this isolator.I had hoped to connect things like Oscilloscopes and other expensive test Equipment through one of these. But, the low bandwidth, and USB 1.0 only compatibility is keeping it from working it looks like.

Says what it does, does what it says!

I'm a full time professional video editor and I needed this because when I used the integrated audio on my motherboard I was going a lot of noise in my reference monitors (Adam Audio A7V) due to interference from internal components. I got a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Play! 3, external USB sound adapter to get a digital out and help mitigate the issue. But, was still hearing a significant amount of noise. I dropped in this adapter between my PC workstation and the SB and instantly it was gone! I can't perceive ANY difference in quality of the audio. I was also pleasantly surprised by the build quality. In my opinion, this is a great product for the price and solves an issue many people face!

Fantastic for ground loop buzz! DAC/AMP/PC loop

Update. Lasted 2 days, died. Replacement lasted a day, died. Garbage. These reviews seem all over the place and I suspect its due to being used for issues this is not intended to solve.. I used this to get rid of a very annoying albeit subtle ground loop buzz/hum whatever you wna call it that Id been dealing with for over a year lol. I was looking at products that cost 6 times as much and nearly bought them before deciding this was so cheap that even if it didnt work, nbd.. Well it works, perfectly. Plugged in and issue gone. See if these specifics match your system/issue to determine if it may help. I have a DAC/AMP connected to my PC via a single USB. The USB is both power and data. Id read if you feed your DAC/AMP via a dedicated power supply then that may fix your issue. Didnt try it so idk about that. I had a constant hum/buzz as soon as I launched any game or audio app. It was quiet, so when you played music or actually started getting game audio, itd be drowned out, but in quiet moments it was always there and eventually began to drive me insane lol. Plugged this in and noise gone! Dead silence! This needs to be upstream of the DAC/AMP. So it goes as follows, PC-this dongle-USB cable-DAC/AMP. Good luck!

Lifersaver for what I needed it for...

Works great! Saved me so much time and money by fixing feedback from my laptop to my CNC machine which kept disconnecting..

Works fine for peripherals drawing less than 200mA

I wanted to use this product to completely isolate and power a USB peripheral. The description didn't seem to have enough details to tell if it would work. I bought it anyway.Long story short, after testing the product, I realized what this text meant:"【Power Isolator Inside 】1W MAX "It means that you can only draw 200mA from the output side of this product (5V at 200mA is 1 Watt). The USB 2.0 spec requires that a USB 2.0 port supply 500mA. This product can't do that, but that doesn't mean you can't use it. Many devices draw less than 200mA, so this would work fine for those. Just be aware. In my case it wasn't enough, so I had to power my peripheral with a separate supply.Otherwise, I did also confirm with a DMM that the metal shields and the +5V and ground between the input and output connectors of this product are not connected, which is good.I'm knocking off a star because IMHO the details given in this listing are confusing and inadequate, and I had to work around the limited power output.

Performed per Specification and More

This USB isolator did what the description said it would do, and did what others in the comments section said it couldn't do!I am using this do isolate ground loop noise on a USB/MIDI keyboard. The keyboard utilizes a combination of USB as well as analog audio. I could have also isolated the ground loop noise with a DI box. However, I did not want to insert anything in the audio path that would compromise the audio's bandwidth integrity. This isolator completely eliminated all the noise, 100%.As for performing above specification, the description says it has a limit of 200 mA. However, my keyboard per spec requires 250 mA. I took a chance, and this isolator never went into overload or shut down over a 5-hour show. Chances are my keyboard may not have been drawing more than 200 mA, but the specification for this isolator is very conservative and certainly accounts for some headroom.

Great for 3D printer

I bought this to isolate my Raspberry Pi from my ender 3, so I could use a mosfet to switch my printer on and off. I've only printed a few things, but I haven't observed stuttering or other signs of slow speeds. It's nice and compact with a nice case, but to me it feels a little bit pricey. However, it does the job it's supposed to do and I would probably buy it again.

I wish it would work

I ordered one, it worked for only 3 uses. Bought another, it didn't work at all from day one. It added a ton of static noise. Got a replacement and hoping it will work.
