This thing works great for cleaning up your old files. I inherited a lot of files from my father. They were all choked up with dust and debris from years of use. This little cleaning brush did the trick, by slowly working it at the same angle as the file cuts I was able to make my old files work like new. I enjoy using my fathers old tools, this brush helped bring all the files back to life.I found this by accident on Amazon. I had never seen one before. The Osborn steel brush is used to restore any Velcro strip that is no longer adhesive. The Velcro strip is actually not defective. However, the lint, dirt, hair, debris, etc..., will clog its ability to stick. Solution: a steel brush and voila! Clean Velcro strip back to 100% effectiveness.

This is a necessary tool for filing brass and aluminum. Even with this, a relatively fine single-cut file will still clog. I chalk the files, which also helps. This will not save the files indefinitely, but does extend their useful life. If you have waaaay too much free time, you can pick the soft metal from the file cuts with an Xacto knife or a pin probe. This does it faster, although still not 100%.

I bought this because it was suggested for cleaning Velcro, and it works wonders. Two swipes and all the fuzz was removed easily.

not as advertised bruh lawsuit, wood is abrasive and frail wood, sand then treat with olive oil or other nature oils that cant treat wood. Wood did crack a little when used in water environment thats why i treated it after.

As a Machinist, I had used these for cleaning files.... I decided to try this to clean small hides before tanning them. It works great and needs to be cleaned with a comb..... It works by removing the fine tissue and fat from the hide, don't drag it across the hide, rather use a plucking motion....

Haven't had it for very long, but so far an excellent product. Cleaned steel and aluminum out of my files which are of various coarseness. The handle is a little on the small side, but the wire surface is plenty large enough and takes out debris in one pass. Solid construction all around. Very pleased.

Purchased to clean the needle files I use in model making. I have a rougher set of Testors and some Swiss #2's, this works well on both, though, may be a bit overkill as I only use it when the file in question has something akin to partially dry putty on it. For most things like pvc, abs, and styrene, I tend to use a couple swipes from a copper brush to do the same job with less aggressively.Not a bad purchase. Nice to have in the toolbox. :)
