If You've Read the Unicorn Books, This is Pretty Much the Same Just With a Boy and Dinosaur
On the positive side, like the author's other Kindle books, Never Let A Dinosaur Scribble! is formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally), where it takes up the entire screen. Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book page. A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it.The illustrations, especially the dinosaur look really cool. The downside though, this story is very formulaic, if you're read similar titled books about a unicorn by the same author, you're kind of feeling déjà vu as you flick the screen and turn the pages. Especially the ending. If you hadn't read those you'd no doubt rate this one five stars.

Super cute story!!!
I am obsessed with all of Diane Albers books. My pre-k students absolutely love all of the books. We started with I’m Not Just a Scribble at the beginning of the year and haven’t stopped yet. I already read Never Let a Unicorn Scribble so today as I was reading Never Let a Dinosaur Scribble my students were commenting on the differences and similarities of the two. They want to make a comparison chart and hang it up for parents to see. I love these books because they get my students excited for story time.

Not a fan
Not a favorite. This book is expensive for a paperback. We LOVE I’m not just a scribble. Love that book so much we have gifted it multiple times. This book was extremely boring to me and I didn’t really understand it. It’s all about a dinosaur that scribbles and turns out the boy is just coloring on rocks...My 2 and 6 year old weren’t too big fans either. And my 6 year old loves and lives dinosaurs.I really wanted to like it. All the great reviews sold me on it but I’ll be finding something else for our collection.

Flimsy book but cute story
The story is cute but the binding and quality is low. It’s very think and has flimsy translucent paper.

If all pet Dinosaurs could be as creative as this one, I'd buy one!
A cute story and what a creative dinosaur. The way Diane tells a story is fun and creative, utilizing elements from her previous books but taking the story in a little different direction. The end result is always a positive one with the emphasis on getting kids to be creative, introducing them to art and having fun. Do your kids a favor and get the entire collection!

Fun Book!
Diane Alber does it again, incorporating something fun and engaging for kids with something that could easily become a hands-on art project at home or in the classroom. So glad to have an author that is encouraging kids' creativity and artistic expression. Well done!

Great illustration
I really love the illustrations and the specifically placed splashes of color. The use of repetition allows a new reader to practice learned words from prior pages. Clearly this little boy has a dinosaur sized imagination!

The Full Package
Me and my two boys (ages 3 and 7) very much enjoyed this book. It's humorous, the main character is relatable, the story is gripping, and the illustrations are absolutely adorable. What else can you wan't from a book? A strong message, of course... Luckily, this book has one, too. :) In our house, the name "Diane Alber" stands for quality, and so far, a book from her has never let us down. I'd highly recommend it

Fun and some great learning experiences
As an Early Childhood Education teacher I am so happy that I have found this author and her delightful series of books. I now nearly have the whole collection...... This latest book about a dinosaur, follows the unicorn book that my students loved. This book about a dinosaur is even more popular and I had to create a little system for the students to take turns in reading the book. This book whilst it is fun, colourful and engaging - also has some great little ideas for follow up activities in the classroom. I have purchased the SCRIBBLE STONES activity booklet which has some amazing ideas about "kindness stones" and will fit in perfectly with my social / emotional program in the classroom.

This story was just so funny!
The dinosaur in this story is awesome! My kids loved it and they laughed a lot! I like the idea that there's a great lesson for kids to let run their imagination to create beautiful art, but also for parents, to trust their children and let them try with crayons and paints to see what they can do with it. Diane is so talented either for her art and her words, I recommend all of her books!
