Fingerpicking Beethoven (Solo Guitar)

My daughter was tired of Disney and pop so she asked to play Beethoven. She has really taken to the book, I can admit it's a bit out of my league. My kiddo is 9 and has been playing about 4years.

If you love Beethoven and also guitar, then you will probably really enjoy this book. I teach Classical guitar and one of my students came in with this book before his lesson. It has nice arrangements of various Beethoven tunes both in music notation and TAB. But beware, the pieces are not necessarily all that easy to play. Some are easy like, "Fur Elise" and "Ode to Joy", but others are much more of a challenge. "Piano Sonata No. 14. in C# Minor" start off easy but soon gets into some challenging bar chords, especially for a beginner. I like the arrangements - they have enough texture without being overly complicated or thin, but this book might be better for those with more guitar experience - maybe an intermediate player. That said, a beginning player can still learn a lot from this book since some of the pieces are quite simple. I don't think there is a "See Inside" function yet but the pieces are very clearly printed on large pages. If you can't read notation the tab is there right underneath and chords are written above the staves.

Rather disappointing to me. If you are a beginner guitar player this may be good to you. For an intermediate player or better it is lacking. The tunes are basically in single note melodies for the most part. I've already figured out that by ear without the book. I was hoping for advanced arrangements of multiple-note fingerpicking.

this didnt have all of the arrangements I was looking for but I ordered it anyway. Some of the arrangements are simplistic for the sake of playability.

Very good quality. It had both tabs and music notes, and it arrived very quickly. I am extremely satisfied.

Some surprisingly good arrangements and pieces I'd never heard before. Tremendous value for money!

Ich habe mir dieses Beethoven Heft gekauft, weil ich einerseits schon eine Reihe dieser Hal Leonard Fingerpicking Hefte besitze, die insgesamt sehr gut sind, und ich andererseits einige Stücke aus diesem Heft früher auf dem Klavier gespielt habe. Die Spielstärke der Stücke in diesem Heft ist sehr unterschiedlich: Es beinhaltet eine Reihe leichter Stücke, die man als geübter Gitarrenspieler nach kurzem Üben vom Blatt spielen kann. Neben relativ wenig mittelschweren Elementen gibt es eine sehr schöne Transkription der Mondscheinsonate. Die ist absolut empfehlenswert, allerdings ziemlich anspruchsvoll, so dass man sich auch als mehrjähriger Spieler daran noch die Zähne ausbeißen kann. Leider gehen die meisten Stücke nur über zwei Seiten, obwohl die Originalfassung für Klavier oder Orchester um ein Vielfaches länger ist. Gerade bei den Symphonie-Transkriptionen hätte ich mir mehr als nur einen kurzen Abriss eines Motives gewünscht. Das zeigt sich auch an der Seitenzahl die mit 34 Noten-Seiten im Vergleich zu anderen Heften der selben Reihe gering ist. Davon abgesehen bin ich insgesamt mit dem Heft sehr zufrieden. Die Stücke sind gut zusammengestellt mit vielen bekannten Melodien, die Transkriptionen stimmen, und auch die Fingersätze sind gut. Man bekommt hier für kleines Geld viel Freude für's Gitarrenspiel, deshalb gibt's von mir eine Kaufempfehlung!
