A Quality item
Terrific product! More expensive than other offerings direct from China but so worth it. Product features are somewhat understated, for instance the swivel mechanism (locked with a lever rather than an Allen key) moves so smoothly, very like the fluid filled mechanism on my Manfrotto tilt/pan head. Don't know if that's how it's done, but so smooth. The whole object is extremely well made. I'm using it on top of a small extending travel tripod (Hama) with either my mirrorless Canon on top or my Ulanzi ST-03 phone adaptor (another well made product). Lesson is, if you want to feel pleased whenever you use your purchases, pay that bit extra for quality that will last. Five star product losing one star for the cost though.

Very well made excellent quality
I'm using this product to angle a Rode Wireless Go receiver so that the device can be tilted forward 90 Degrees from the vertical instead of lying flat mounted directly to the camera hot shoe. To do this I had to add a 1/4 Inch to hot shoe adapter to the Zhiyou. I would have given a 5 Star rating if it hadn't been for the tightness that had been applied to the pan/tilt locking bolts. This made for a solid and unmovable hinged product out of the box. The product came supplied with a Hex Wrench which I nearly bent having had to apply excessive force enough to loosen the bolts. Eventually, I was able to loosen and acquire suitable friction based movement to the pan/tilt. I can now see the display of my Rode Wireless Go receiver whilst Blogging and Podcasting.

Could do with a more grippy rubber mounting surface
Look, this is a pretty good mount, make no mistake, but I do feel that a more substantial and grippy rubber mounting surface would help stop my monitor creeping out of position, and would give me more confidence on the two screws remaining cinched.

Suits my purpose exactly
It is exactly what I need to mount my recording monitor in various places. Just waiting for the 1/4 inch 20 threaded inserts. It seems sturdy and well made.
