Works absolutely fine and was put together in about 60 mins.The instructions are pretty useless if you don't know what you're looking at but if you're buying this to learn you will learn a lot more by researching the components and what they do. Just following instructions won't teach you anything. It is a good kit to practice soldering but will also give you the opportunity to learn about resistors, capacitors, transistors ect.

Wanted something that i could practice \learn to solder on before tackling some repair jobs and this was great value for the money and also fun to put together. Took a couple of hours and i did have to find some photos online as the instruction sheet that comes with this isn't simple to follow at first glance but it does make sense eventually. This doesn't come with a battery connector so i had to improvise with a 9v battery as i didn't have any battery connectors readily available but some tape and a bare wire did the job. For the money definitely worth it.

I've never worked on anything like this before, and this was my first time soldering - I really enjoyed it and somehow managed to get it working even after a couple of bad solders - All in all it probably took me around 2 hours spread across a couple of days.I will say - For someone who has no idea about electronics, the schematics included were ZERO help and I had to watch a YouTube video which led me to a step by step visual guide! Some of the solder points seemed to come away from the PCB quite easily, possibly my own fault though I don't think I did much wrong! Also, keep in mind that you will need to buy a battery and snap connectors to connect the power wires together otherwise you'll have no way to test if it actually works!!

One of the components burnt out when I plugged it up, might have been me or the component might have been a duff one. The instructions could be a bit more clearer as I had to Google a fair bit.

the instruction are anything but easy to follow there no explanations as to why there are two power in ports and im just confused as to how to skip the bit to allow 5v from usb not beginner friendly at all and to top it off it didnt come with all needed parts so i cant finish it its not even connectable to an arduino its false advertising

I bought this really to practice soldering. All the parts needed were present but as another reviewer noted, the pins on the IC were bent so I had to spend a couple of minutes bending them back.It took me about 1 hr 20 to build - I put one of the 7-segment displays in the wrong way (pure carelessness on my part), so had to spend a while desoldering and remounting it.At the end, the bottom segment of each display wasn't lighting up - this is almost certainly my fault; either I've messed up a joint or a blew one of the transistors when I had the display the wrong way round, but I lack the knowledge to fix it.What I would say is that there absolutely are not "Pictures To Show You How To Proceed Step By Step" - for assembly, you get a Bill of Materials and a circuit diagram. The PCB is well-labelled, so it's not too difficult to work out, but you'll need to know or google the following:- Identifying resistors from colour bands.- Polarity marking of capacitors and LEDs (to know which way round to mount them on the board)There's mention in the BOM and circuit diagram of a "Chip"/78L05/U2 component, which is also mentioned in the instructions as something you can remove and use with USB, but this component (actually a power regulator) isn't included and there's nowhere for it to go on the PCB, so perhaps the documentation covers two versions of the kit.The instructions for using the end product are rather confusing (I suspect auto-translated from Chinese), but you can make sense of them.Overall, this is a decent circuit and kit for practicing that could be made much better with some more detailed documentation.

A great little kit. I decided I wanted to leave lockdown with a new skill so I bought a soldering iron and a few soldering kits so I could teach myself. This is great fun to put together, really good quality and works perfectly. The instructions were harder for me to understand as a novice but after a bit of google research I figured out most of it for myself. I did use the images on the product page to help with some of the component placing, but overall really happy with this. Would buy again.

I've bought two of these now. Unfortunately neither work. I'm confident I put all of the components in the correct place, including the polarity. I also followed a YouTube video to make sure. It's been good practice but disappointing at the same time. One of the components gets extremely hot which I believe is the problem. Maybe it's my fault or maybe it isn't; I'll probably never know. I've contacted the seller to ask what they think.Edit: Seller has sent a new kit. Excellent customer service so changing to 5 stars.
