My 2nd one,
I've had a Roadmate for years, & have used it extensively. I liked it well enough that when the sun finally got to the suction cup & it wouldn't stay on the windsheild, I replaced it with another just like it. I'm 74, and this new one may well still be on the job when I'm no longer able to drive. The only negative thing I can say about the Roadmate, & both of them have the same flaw, is neither one of them know when I've reached home. We're in a semi-rural area, where houses aren't in close proximity to one another, and both Roadmates say I've arrived home when I'm still several hundred yards away, although the new one is a little closer than the old one. Overall, I'd recommend the Roadmate to a friend (if I found one who didn't have a built-in GPS in their vehicle).Edit:: I must modify my earlier review. I just came a store 7 miles from home. When I left the access road & turned onto the highway, the GPS said to take a right in 5 miles onto Devilbiss Bridge Rd. Not only is there a 5 mile stretch of road (MD 194) between the highway I was on & Devilbiss Rd, that was totally ignored, but you can't make a right onto that road from MD 194; Devilbiss stops @ 194; it doesn't cross. When you make that right, you're on Daysville Rd.; the road I live on. I've only lived there 45 years, at the same address; I think I know where the road starts & stops!Maybe I gave this new unit too much credit!
