Legrand Wiremold BW2 Metal Raceway for Extending Power, 700 Series, 1 Gang Outlet Box, 1" Deep, White (1 Pack)

The media could not be loaded.  This is my first attempt to add two new outlets using Legrand raceway products. I watched several of their videos and the information and demonstrations where excellent. I used the metal raceway BWH9-10-11, outlet kit BW2-D, starter box BW5 ( It has a much larger back plate opening for ease of connecting wire and pushing back into wall cavity), and accessories BWH9-10-11.

Was made different than my original box but adapted easily. Easy to munt and install new switch.

Most of the time I prefer to install everything inside the walls, but sometimes it just isn't worth the trouble. I wanted to run power to my TV, which is wall mounted, but the closest outlet was a couple feet to the side. Running the power horizontally through the wall would have required cutting out a chunk of drywall to drill through the studs. With the Wiremold / Legrand metal raceway, I was able to take the existing outlet box, mount a starter box over it, run raceway a couple feet over the wall, and then use another starter box to bring power back into the wall. At that point running a new outlet higher on the wall in the same stud space is relatively straightforward without having to make unnecessary drywall cuts.The Wiremold / Legrand system works well. The metal raceway has a more substantial feel to it than the plastic parts and is still paintable. Be a bit careful though - some of the edges of parts like the mounting plate can be a bit sharp. I walked away from this project with a few nicks. Also, the way the raceway connects to the boxes can require a bit of work to connect. I had to tweak the little tabs a bit with pliers to get them to slide in easier. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to use this again for a similar project.One other minor note: no fault of Wiremold / Legrand, but my raceway box was delivered bent like a boomerang. I ended up returning that to Amazon and just buying a replacement at the local hardware store. Props to FedEx for leaving it that way on the porch - my wife and I both had a good laugh.

Nowadays with all the cheap products out there, it makes me happy to see products just work. The way they are supposed to. Easy to use! I waited 15 years to wired the other half of the garage and it took allot less time to do this time a round!

I am using this to install an oulet and network cat6 jack on a shallow wall, concrete and drywall in between space too narrow.. this box did the trick, even though it was not designed for this use.I am glad i fount it

Needed some lights and outlets in a utility room. This wiremold system worked great, safe, and looks neat when completed. It has all of the parts for 90's, inside and outside corners.

as an Electrical Engineer, I spec wire mold for various Projects.

Seemed a little pricy but I can get on with the job now.

Originally had regular depth box, but needed this one for extra room to fit an outlet with built in USB outlets. Works perfectly.

Exactly what was needed to extend power from a ceiling box with surface wiremold.

Works as expected. I do wish they sell the pieces separately as needed thou. I only needed 4 of the pieces in the package.
