As soon as I opened the box, which was not sealed, it looked like it had been used before as there were marks over the unit, probably sent back by another customer and sent out again, I do know what I'm doing when setting up as I have been in the business for years but after all connections were made the unit just scrolled through a set of random numbers on the front panel and the remote control doesn't work, so all I can do is switch it off and on and it still doesn't work my advice if your after a satellite receiver spend a little extra on a decent one.

i brought this as a freesat recorder only.when first turned on it was all set up for a european satellite service.after reading the manual i decided to do a system reset which worked as i could then search for Astra 2E, 2F and 2G.once scanned it has every channel i was expecting.then i had to work out how to organize them,after looking on the internet i found you can create a favourites list.to my surprise it had a list already there with european channels which was no good to me so i had to find how to delete them.to sum it up,i now have my favourite freesat channels all in order and can record a programme while flicking through them.it is a difficult box to work out even with the manual.but now works wel6 months later I've binned it, with many faults I got sick of the bleeding thing.Don't waste your time and money on this

Top box

Could not even set the box up. Just got , it has encountered a software problem & needs to reboot. Would not update or anything. What a waste of time that was. Sent back.

This is an excellent little box which produces top class pictures, and it is cheap and well made. But a word of warning - it does take quite a bit of skill, research and head-scratching to set up. If you have just used a dedicated Sky or Freesat box before (which I had) you will find a bewildering set of options in the various menus. It is worth doing a fair bit of internet searching to help with the setup, but the result is worth it - eventually!

Good picture and sound, good playback. Need to do a few things to get the best out of it, not exactly an off the shelf product (it does work off shelf but it's not a sky etc box). Have a formatted USB stick and computer handy. I flashed latest OpenATV image on to it and added Wooshbuild for easier interface and set up. Menu can be laggy but then I got it for less than £100 so can't complain. Just be patient going through options.

User guide useless and I was an electronics design engineer. Went through initial setup and it only found about 60 of 1000 channels. Did a factory reset and it locked up completely.DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. IT IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS.
